Purpose

Parched ground that soaks up the rain and then produces an abundance of carrots and corn for its gardener gets God's "Well done!"
So don't get ahead of the Master and jump to conclusions with your judgments before all the evidence is in. When he comes, he will bring out in the open and place in evidence all kinds of things we never even dreamed of--inner motives and purposes and prayers. Only then will any one of us get to hear the "Well done!" of God.
The master was full of praise. `Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!'

Get out the message--GOD Rules! He put the world on a firm foundation; He treats everyone fair and square.
And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus.

We have all benefited from the rich blessings he brought to us--one gracious blessing after another. [ Greek grace upon grace.]
The apostles stayed there a long time, preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord. The Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders.
Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people.
All of these things are for your benefit. And as God's grace brings more and more people to Christ, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

It was for us, too, assuring us that God will also declare us to be righteous if we believe in God, who brought Jesus our Lord back from the dead.

Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.

Boast

As for me, God forbid that I should boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, [ Or Because of him.] my interest in this world died long ago, and the world's interest in me is also long dead.
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would be of no value whatsoever.
Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
As the Scriptures say, "The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done." [ Jer 9:24.]
Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith.
When people boast about themselves, it doesn't count for much. But when the Lord commends someone, that's different!

Since a dull ax requires great strength, sharpen the blade. That's the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.
When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!
As God's messenger, I give each of you this warning: Be honest in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your value by how much faith God has given you.
But there is going to come a time of testing at the judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. Everyone's work will be put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value.
Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.
It is not that we think we can do anything of lasting value by ourselves. Our only power and success come from God.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn to endure.

Speak
a WORD from God's Book

How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.
Until faith in Christ was shown to us as the way of becoming right with God, we were guarded by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until we could put our faith in the coming Savior.
But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, "I believed in God, and so I speak."
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, "Don't be afraid! Speak out! Don't be silent!
The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn't been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking around, and those who had been blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel.
So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you'll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you're already doing this; just keep on doing it.

How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.
Until faith in Christ was shown to us as the way of becoming right with God, we were guarded by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until we could put our faith in the coming Savior.
But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, "I believed in God, and so I speak."
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, "Don't be afraid! Speak out! Don't be silent!
The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn't been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking around, and those who had been blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel.
So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you'll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you're already doing this; just keep on doing it.

Living
a WORD from God's Book

You have been born again. Your new life did not come from your earthly parents because the life they gave you will end in death. But this new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.
For the word of God is full of living power.
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.
I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.
For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk; it is living by God's power.

Freedom
a WORD from God's Book

Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom. For if you already have something, you don't need to hope for it.
God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom.
He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven.
[ Freedom in Christ ] Christ has really set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law.
You have been called to live in freedom--not freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love.
The Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, he gives freedom.

Way
a WORD from God's Book

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
The time is coming and is already here when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship him that way.
Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
[ The Narrow Gate ] "You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell [ Greek The way that leads to destruction.] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way.
In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents."
Prove by the way you live that you have really turned from your sins and turned to God.

Reward
a WORD fromm God's Book

Day by day the LORD takes care of the innocent, and they will receive a reward that lasts forever.
"And you? Go about your business without fretting or worrying. Relax. When it's all over, you will be on your feet to receive your reward."
With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus.
God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well.
Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life.
God blesses you who are hated and excluded and mocked and cursed because you are identified with me, the Son of Man. "When that happens, rejoice! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven.

Taste
a WORD from God's Book

How sweet are your words to my taste; they are sweeter than honey.
The true people taste your truth, The bad ones can't figure you out.
Gracious speech is like clover honey-- good taste to the soul, quick energy for the body
Now that you have had a taste of the Lord's kindness you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk… Come to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God's temple. He was rejected by the people, but he is precious to God who chose him.
The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what's ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we'll never settle for less.
Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!
