There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.

Because they were trying to get right with God by keeping the law and being good instead of by depending on faith. They stumbled over the great rock in their path.

Lead me in the right path, O LORD . . . Tell me clearly what to do, and show me which way to turn.

Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong on it.

Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.
