[ To Hang Your Life from One Thin Thread ] …Can mighty pine trees grow tall without soil? Can luscious tomatoes flourish without water? Blossoming flowers look great before they're cut or picked, but without soil or water they wither more quickly than grass. That's what happens to all who forget God— all their hopes come to nothing. They hang their life from one thin thread, they hitch their fate to a spider web. One jiggle and the thread breaks, one jab and the web collapses.
Such is the hopeless future of all who turn from God and trust in something as frail as a spider's web-- they take hold and fall because it's so flimsy.
The wicked build houses as fragile as a spider’s web, as flimsy as a shelter made of branches.
What they trust in is fragile ; what they rely on is a spider’s web.
And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts

Those who wait on the Lord will never be disappointed.
