Peace

a WORD from God's Book

I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his people, his faithful ones.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you!

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!

But he was wounded and crushed for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped, and we were healed!

And just as they were telling about it, Jesus himself was suddenly standing there among them. He said, "Peace be with you."

"I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid.

Kindness

My God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember your kindness—

The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness.

When she (Wisdom / Holy Spirit) speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule when she gives instructions.

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness

Never let loyalty and kindness get away from you! Wear them like a necklace; write them deep within your heart.

The LORD Almighty says: Judge fairly and honestly, and show mercy and kindness to one another.

Rely

When the wicked die, their hopes all perish, for they rely on their own feeble strength.

"Do not rely on mediums and psychics, for you will be defiled by them. I, the LORD, am your God.

We don't have to rely on the world's guesses and opinions. We didn't learn this by reading books or going to school; we learned it from God, who taught us person-to-person through Jesus, and we're passing it on to you in the same firsthand, personal way.

Who among you fears the LORD and obeys his servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the LORD and rely on your God.

The LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.

We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

Happiness

Those who love money will never have enough. How absurd to think that wealth brings true happiness!

Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.

"So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.

Go then, eat your bread in happiness and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works.

Pray for the happiness of those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.

How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces peace and brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation, and says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Joy

Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

Oh, what joy for those whose rebellion is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of sin, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!

I am overcome with joy because of your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul.

But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "The LORD is great!"

The LORD is my strength, my shield from every danger. I trust in him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the LORD will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.

Wait

Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me”

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. They give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises.

But if we look forward to something we don't have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently.

But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive everything promised to us who are right with God through faith.

Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Live in such a way that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you.

Restore

Restore our fortunes, LORD, as streams renew the desert.

He says, "You will do more than restore the people of Israel to me. I will make you a light to the Gentiles, and you will bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."

Restore us, O LORD, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had!

In just a short time, he will restore us so we can live in his presence.

[ The LORD Will Restore His People ] Ask the LORD for rain in the spring, and he will give it. It is the LORD who makes storm clouds that drop showers of rain so that every field becomes a lush pasture.

Search

[ The Unbelieving People Warned ] Later Jesus said to them again, "I am going away. You will search for me and die in your sin. You cannot come where I am going."

"You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!

Happy are those who obey his decrees and search for him with all their hearts.

"I love all who love me. Those who search for me will surely find me.

But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "The LORD is great!"

Search the book of the LORD, and see what he will do. He will not miss a single detail. Not one of these birds and animals will be missing, and none will lack a mate, for the LORD has promised this. His Spirit will make it all come true.

Provide

Let my cry come right into your presence, GOD; provide me with the insight that comes only from your Word.

The Scriptures provide precedent: Look! I'm setting a stone in Zion (Jesus Christ), a cornerstone in the place of honor. Whoever trusts in this stone as a foundation will never have cause to regret it.

Jesus once again addressed them: "I am the world's Light. No one who follows me stumbles around in the darkness. I provide plenty of light to live in."

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

I will talk to the Father, and he'll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you.

I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when I, the Son of Man, return, how many will I find who have faith?"

They said, "Men of Galilee, why are you standing here staring at the sky? Jesus has been taken away from you into heaven. And someday, just as you saw him go, he will return!"

"Stay awake and be prepared, because you do not know the day or hour of my return.”

We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.

As we talk to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and your continual anticipation of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And now the prize awaits me--the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his glorious return.
